Belgium v Italy
Time for the Belgians to live up to their reputation as the next big thing.
Seems the Italians reckon they haven't got much of a team this time out.

Italy are proof that the correct formation, tactics and motivation will always succeed.

Woy could learn a lot.

The Italians can teach a lot of teams one very important thing When you get a chance, Take it.

Italy were bang up for this from the first whistle and Belgium looked rattled. The Belgians as a team are as overrated as mayo on chips.

put your money on Italy to win this.

Belgium plodded forward like a dead dog how the hell were they seen in any way as favourites? I saw a one dimensional boring heavy legged team.
Italy are always tournament ready and can do it all whilst constantly being defensive quality throughout and playing as a team.

Italy without massive players who are injured still manage to get the job done. They are a proper tournament team.

You may be right. But you can't get carried away by that performance. I thought the Italian's were sublime.

Italy very impressive. Fantastic defensively

Witsel and Fellaini killed Belgium, they needed to break them down and those two offered nothing. Lukaku and De Bruyne very very poor

Italy will top the group now but 2nd place looks like it has more chance of the easier second round game

At the game last night and the sheer quality of both sides was there to be seen although Belgium fucked up again. Italians technically gifted and defensively superior compared to many sides. Don't be shocked if they win Euro. Belgium fans clapped Italian national anthem whole by through and had great support. Fair play

I tend to agree.

The passing in the middle of the park was quite hit and miss and would have been punished by a team that counter-attacked better.

Stellar in some other areas and something to build on though. Also great to start out with the only 3 points in the group.

Belgium are the Manchester City of the Euros, Italy could go deep though, best team performance so far, hopefully they will dispose of the Swedes and rest the starting XI for their last group game!!!!

Re: Belgium v Italy
Think everyone is getting a little carried away by Italy.

They were only playing an overrated Belgium team and not the Germans.

More that Lukaku and Origi missed a couple of absolute sitters as well than the defence being magnificent.

Good luck to them though, was an excellent game to watch for a neutral and they scored a couple of class goals.

DeBruyne
Once again does not show up when it matters. Did it in the CL too. Flat track bully, talented but his heart does not match his ability and perhaps now we can see why Jose hooked him.

The Italian's team spirit looks very strong. I laughed the way virtually the whole bench couldn't stop themselves creeping on to the pitch to celebrate as one big wall of smiles.

Would have been a good idea to place a bet on them before that first match.

Once again Italy even withoutut superstars get a result. England would not have won that game.
The italians are masters at defending in particular, it's in their genes. Once they go one up I always fancy them to win, got great ball retention too.

Still after after all the failures nothing has changed with England in comparison and once again they will be leaving soon.

Re: Belgium v Italy
As Vialli said last night Italy are greater than the sum of their parts and the Belgians are the opposite.
A disorganised rabble. Two defensive midfielders yet allowed the ball to be played up to the Italians feet time after time and had little clue about moving the Italian back three about.
The Italians were very clever and everyone played to their plan even though Belgium had the greater individual talent if you lined them up man for man.
DeBruyne and Lukaku probably had their worst games ever and Hazard was the early season Chelsea version.
Didn't seem to have any clue as to how to play together.

Not unexpected for me to see Belgium lose to the Italians. They aren't a good national team. Lots of great players but all those ego,s makes them average together. Same as world cup 2014.
